South Texas is home to the largest stray animal population in the nation. Everyday over one million stray animals roam our streets. The only solution to this problem is to spay and neuter. In the 20+ years we have been rescuing animals, the stray animal problem in the Rio Grande Valley worse. There is no end in sight if we continue in the same path.
Over the years, we use the little resources that we have to rescue an endless supply of animals. Therefore, it’s imperative that we tackle the problem in a different way. We believe that spay and neuter is the only answer. We have been in talks with local low-cost clinics to resume mash clinics like we used to, but on a larger scale. This would include picking up stray animals, transporting them to the clinic, sterilizing and vaccinating them, and returning them to their homes.
We have been doing our best to spay/neuter and rescue/re-home as many animals as possible, but it is impossible to do it alone. We need funding and sponsors to finance this ambitious, but not impossible, project. Donations, big or small, help us reduce to overpopulation problem.
Please help us help these innocent animals. They deserve better.
