About Me

Barkley is a smart and gentle guy. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance dog that prefers to lounge around, he’s your dude. He will ask for love and attention without getting too hyper, and would make a great cuddle buddy. Barkley is an older dog so he is super chill and does well with other dogs. He has been at Yaqui for almost 5 years and since then was treated for heartworms and recovered from a broken pelvis. His previous injury does not slow him down.. he walks well on a leash and shows no signs of discomfort. You wouldn’t even know he had been hit by a car. As happy as he is to be a resident at the Yaqui Ranch, Barkley deserves a home where he can lounge on the couch and cuddle with his human. He just wants to love and be loved. Please share and help us find Barkley a home. Adoption fee is $150. He is neutered, current with vaccines, and microchipped.

Adoption FAQ's

There are a few ways you can adopt a Yaqui pet. First, you can visit the ranch to see our beautiful pets in person. If you aren’t local and/or can’t visit, you can follow our daily updates on our social media sites and our website. When you see the pet of your dreams, call us, e-mail us, message us, or even send a smoke signal! Our top priority is finding a great home for our rescues.

Adoption Process

After you choose your pet, we will ask you to fill out an adoption application with your basic contact information. Once approved, you will sign an adoption contract. How to pick the right one

There’s a lot to think about when choosing the right pet. Here are things we recommend you consider before adopting:

Commitment – How much time do you have? Some pets require more time and energy that others. Some animals need exercise a few times a day, with other are happy relaxing in the house.

Temperament – Some pets are high-energy, and some are more chill. What kind of personality are you looking for in a pet?

Expenses – Animals have basic needs like humans do. Do you have the funds to provide food, water, proper shelter, and medical care?

Are the rescues healthy?

Pets from rescues are just as, if not more, healthy than pet-store animals. All of our pets are fully-vetted, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped. Most of our dogs are socialized, potty-trained, and understand how to walk on a leash. Our cats are socialized with other cats, and interact with humans everyday.
